"At uluvmystyle working with many diverse lyricist, poets, rappers, and the well seasoned scholars. This template is a clear Road map to writing the best raps you can create. Hopefully it will inspire the minds of the world to create valuable intellectual content with your vocabulary and social skills. You can learn how to write creative rhymes and ultimately become a well skilled Lyricist and or Poet. All the steps are based on the basic fundamentals of creative writing. We will break it down for you as we  build." -Marcus Belgrove

There are many styles of Rap. You can  write as a storyteller (Nas, Slick Rick, Ghostface KIllah, DMX) with colorful metaphors, or You can fantasize and use rich hyperbole (Lil Wayne, Jay-Z. B.I.G.),  Maybe you may want to just Spit some eclectic rhymes that makes everyone head spin as a dope Lyricist (Tupac, Busta Rhymes Eminem, and Kanye).  Whatever you choose, Just stick to the beat and be distinct. Remember Rap is Rhythm and Poetry. Keep the rhythm of the beat! Be creative, flow crazy, change the sounds of words to fit the beat, and break words up or chop it up with other bars. Keep the goal to make it sound great.

Late night down Sunset, likin' the sin" - 2pac

Brainstorm & Organize

Picture
First Organize, Gather your rhymes, thoughts and written words from notebooks, text messages. Check any other place’s you may have your rhymes stored. I’ve found papers in my old room at my Mother’s house, in old sneaker boxes full of lyrics from years ago in Middle school, and things in the basement of my Aunt’s house that amazes me to this day that I wrote when I was a youngin’. It helps to collect everything. Intense brainstorming sessions for a couple of hours. You never know. You could be sitting on the next big hit, with the right beat, hook and verse!

Get 'Em Hooked!

When writing new content, ask yourself have I used colorful adjectives, compound-words or multi-rhymes, verbs, hyperbole, slant rhymes, metaphors, and the double entendre. This is the first step to creating the ill rhymes you desire. Make sure you are listening to the instrumental version of the beat to get the vibe and energy of the rhythm and flow.

Begin on writing the 8 bars Chorus (Hook). Which when complete will be a well crafted Theme  and Message of the Rap.

The Hook, also sets the rhythm and basic flow. This is how listeners will remember your Rap forever. When creating your lyrics for verses, anyone who writes will tell you: Write about what you know! You can get as creative as you like with various and unique hyperbole, and metaphors.

Create ill Rhymes

Picture
Begin the Verse’s. Your Verse’s are your Assembled thoughts from brainstorming and parts of the chorus line for continuity. Keep in mind to always Connect with the audience and keep the rhythm and tempo of the beat at all times. The Standard Verse is 16 Bars. Now Create both Verse’s.

What is the acronym for R.A.P.? = Rhythm And Poetry

"And you should love it, way more then you hate it
Nigga you mad? I thought that you'd be happy I made it
I'm that cat by the bar toastin' to the good life
You that f*ggot-*ss nigga tryin' to pull me back right?
When my joint get to pumpin' in the club it's on
I wink my eye at ya b*tch, if she smiles she gone
If the roof on fire, let the motherf*cker burn
If you talkin' about money homie, I ain't concerned
I'ma tell you what Banks told me "Cous' go 'head switch the style up
If the niggas hate then let 'em hate then watch the money pile up
Or we go upside your head with a bottle of bub'
They know where we f*ckin' be..."
- 50 Cent

Shorter is Better! Your Rap shouldn't be too long either! Why? Radio has set the standard for shorter raps and songs. These shorter songs can be played faster and allows the radio broadcasters to reach a higher audience which increases the advertising revenue greatly. Everyone makes more money off  a shorter song.

Here you have it the 16 bar verse: Intro :8 bar hook:16 bar verse :bridge:8 bar hook: Outro formula started.

What are bars? Bar’s are a single line of a Rap Song.

Following this formula  for a shorter Rap your success margin will increase, and optimize your views, spins, listens, on social media or on radio, TV, or flim. People tend to get bored and tune out if a song is too long or the content is unrelated. Now that you completed your Verses, and Hook your now ready to began working on the Intro and Outro!

Intro & Outro

Picture
The Outro leaves the audience with a satisfied experience or craving for more. Maybe you may want to allude to a sequel or reiterate some previous points or raise awareness to a certain cause for example: S/O to #BlackLivesMatters or #PrayForOrlando
Once the Rap is organized, memorized, practiced, you then have a Rap, and You can become a Rapper!
