Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monáe perform at Malia Obama’s 18th Birthday

Two of music’s biggest stars of 2016 showed up yesterday to support President Obama in wishing his daughter Malia a very happy and memorable 18th Birthday from the People’s House! The event is known as the Fourth of July White House BBQ to honor military families but it also is Malia Obama’s birthday. Yes the oldest of the Obama children, Malia shares her birthday with the Nation. She was just 10 years old when she moved into the White House. She recently graduated high school in June and will attend Harvard University in the Fall of 2107. Being her father’s final year in office we see more of Malia in public and she has grown to become a beautiful and thoughtful young woman. The multi-talented and faceted duo helped Obama sing Happy Birthday to Malia. When asked what he thought of the musicians Obama stated: “Both amazing artists, talented and popular and doing great things.” ​​
